Chelsea fans

Welcome to ‘Chelsea Is Our Name’!

A Chelsea blog dedicated to true Blues…

There is nothing quite like being a Chelsea fan. Through the highs and lows, changes of ownership and managers, trophies and relegations, joy and despair … even the threat of extinction, there’s never a dull moment!

And throughout it all, us Blues always stick together.

I’ve been a Chelsea fan my entire life (38 years and counting) – an honour bestowed upon me by my mum’s side of the family. My uncle and granddad were regular visitors to Stamford Bridge back in the 1950s and 60s, and the blue blood still pumps in my veins many decades later.

Such is my love of Chelsea and football – and indeed sport in general – I have spent my entire career as a sports journalist. It’s been every bit as fun and interesting as you’d expect, covering live sports events, interviewing superstar athletes, and sharing inspiring stories with the world.

That said, my one true love is Chelsea. So much so that even my wife (who I love dearly!) knows that nothing takes priority over a Chelsea game. Plans must always be arranged around matches and nothing will influence my mood more than a result.

Actually, there was once exception: we got married at the same time as Chelsea got pumped 4-0 by Bournemouth in 2019. That was one game I was happy to miss!

And so, after more than 12 years of producing and editing content for other websites, newspapers, and magazines, it’s time to go it alone and put all my energy and focus into the one thing that truly matters: the Blues!

Chelsea Is Our Name is a blog dedicated to all true Blues. There will be plenty of analysis – both pre- and post-match – player ratings, regular features about the club, and weekly quizzes to test your Chelsea knowledge!

With so many Chelsea blogs out there, the aim with C.I.O.N is to provide quality over quantity and to engage with fellow supporters through opinion and shared debate. Remember, any opinion you read on this blog is mine alone – you are free to disagree with me at any time. In fact, I welcome it!

It’s always a delight to connect with fellow Chelsea fans so be sure to hit me up on social media.

Up the Chels!
